Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Delhi has allotted 4 exam centres in Srinagar, Jammu, and Kashmir for JEE Advanced 2020 exam. This is the first time Kashmir gets four centres for aspirants who will appear for the examination. The JEE Advanced exam will be conducted on September 27, 2020, across the country in various centres.
Till 2019, Jammu and Kashmir had only 1 exam centre in Jammu. After the amendment of Article 370 in the region, the number of exam centres has been increased.
IIT Delhi Director, V. Ramgopal Rao while rubbishing off the news piece claiming that no exam centres allotted in Kashmir for JEE Advanced Exam 2020 said that the Indian Institute of Delhi, IIT Delhi has allotted 4 centres in Srinagar that is enough to accommodate all candidates who will appear for the exam.
IIT JEE Advanced examination is a national level exam which will be conducted as a computer-based test, CBT online. The exam will comprise of two papers- Paper I and Paper II, both of which are compulsory. Each of Paper 1 and Paper 2 has three parts – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The question paper will be in English and Hindi. Negative marks would be awarded for incorrect answers as well.
Meanwhile, after many students requested IIT Delhi to increase the number of attempts for the exam considering the pandemic, IIT Delhi Director came up with a clarification. Professor V. Ramgopal Rao said that the decision to increase the number of attempted for JEE Advanced or IIT JEE examination would be taken in the JAB or Joint Admission Board’s meeting where all matters in regards to IIT JEE or JEE Advanced 2021 would be taken.
