J&K Government initiate action against 31 absentee employees

As many as 31 employees were found absent in different government offices in the Kashmir valley during the three days, forcing authorities to initiate action against them. Officials said here today that Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) conducted surprise inspection of various Government offices in the central Kashmir district of Badgam yesterday.
During the surprise visit, the ACR found 10 employees unauthorizedly absent from their duty and directed the concerned to initiate action against them as per law.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Budgam has directed officials of the district administration to ensure their presence from 1030 hrs to 1630 hrs in the office for speedy redressal of public grievances.
Officials said that on December 28 Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Karnah conducted surprise inspection of various offices in the border Sub Division, Karnah. During checking, 14 employees of Cooperative, Education, ICDS, Health, Animal husbandry and Social welfare Departments were found unauthorizedly absent from the duty who were later placed under suspension.
On the same day a team of Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) today visited the BHSS and found Principal and Senior Assistant absent from the duty, who were later suspended.
Four lecturers and in-charge DIET Pampore were also put under suspension for remaining absent from their duties during the visit.
Though the State Government has announced winter vacation in educational institutions in the Kashmir Valley and winter zone of Jammu region, the Head of Departments (HOD) and ministerial staff have been directed to remain present in their respective place of postings during the vacation.
