J&k Police arrest man with cash before Phase-3 voting of DDC polls

Jammu Police on Friday arrested one person with cash before the start of voting in Phase-3 of the District Development Council (DDC) elections.

Police here said that on specific inputs about the distribution of cash in the Rural area of village Malikaya Mehra in Domana area, Police team intercepted a vehicle from which one person from village Patniyal and recovered cash of Rs 58695 from his possession.

The cash was meant for distribution amongst the voters to influence their voting rights and affect the free and fair voting process, which is the most essential ingredient for free and fair elections.

The legalities associated with crime and booking the accused under relevant sections of law took place under the supervision of SP Rural Sanjay Sharma and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
