JKNPP condemns sacrilegious attacks on Hindu Temples

Deploring the back to back sacrilegious acts which took place in historic Aap Shambhu temple at Roop Nagar, Devika Temple at Udhampur and Shiv temple at Nanak Nagar by some anti-social miscreants, JKNPP made a fervent appeal to all sects of the society to maintain communal peace and harmony at all costs in a press conference today. Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP while speaking to the media condemned the profane acts of blasphemy and desecration at the revered temples of Lord Shiva which had severely hurt the sentiments of the people of Jammu Pradesh to stage massive protests. He lambasted the BJP-PDP government for providing comfort zone to the separatists which had further emboldened the mischievous elements to trigger communal tension.
He said that the wrong policy of the government had encouraged the fringe elements to move scot free to disrupt the peace and tranquility of the State. Singh divulged that certain incidents of late sparked by anti-national elements had created the atmosphere of fear and terror similar to the dark era of nineties. Singh maintained that similar incidents had spun over in Jammu region as well to flare up communal passions and to scuttle scheduled holy pilgrimages like Amarnath Yatra. He said that militant attack on CRPF at Kud recently followed by series of profane acts of desecration at historic Aap Shambhu Temple at Roop Nagar and Shiv Temple at Nanak Nagar were the deep rooted conspiracy of the anti-social forces to disturb the secular fabric of Jammu region. While taking a jibe at the BJP for totally surrendering to the commands of its ally PDP for the loaves of power, he said that the Saffron party which would create hue and cry over such incidents while in opposition had now been clandestinely pushing the State and Jammu region in particular towards turbulence and destruction Singh demanded a high level probe into the sacrilegious acts to unravel bigger plot behind without any delay. He vowed to expose and rout the Saffron brigade from its constituency in the interest of the people and the region.
The JKNPP workers later led by Harsh Dev Singh took out a procession from Main Stop Gandhi Nagar and passed through Hospital Road, Auqaf Complex and culminated at Gole Market Gandhi Nagar. Prominent among those who addressed on the occasion included Sardar Paramjit Singh Marshall, Gagan Pratap Singh, Rajesh Padgotra, Sham Gorkha, Anil Rakwal, Narinder Sharma, Arun Sharma, Ajeet Sharma, Narinder Singh, Satvir, Bhanu Partap ,Parshottam Parihar, Udhay Veer besides others.
