JKP organises folk dance programme

To promote and to preserve the ancient folk dances of Ramban and with an aim to channelise the energy of the youth in a proper direction, Range Police Headquarter DKR organised a Folk Dance Programme in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School, here today.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ramban Mushtaq Choudhary was the chief guest and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Ramban M R Choudhary was the guest besides Principal of the School Durga Dass were guest of honour on the occasion and staff members were also present.
Students from the host school and Bharatiya Vidya Mandir High School besides a local group performed in the programme. The young artists mesmerised the packed audience with their raw but scintillating performances, especially Thali Dance presented by group of local youth.
While speaking on the occasion chief guest said that is it very encouraging and heartening to see such a wonderful talent at this age.
We will be more than happy to help the budding talent to promote and preserve this unique culture in whatever way we can.
While exhorted upon the youth to work hard and contribute positively in the overall development of the region, he said there is lot of talent in youth of Ramban and endeavour of J& K Police is to channelize their energy by providing platform to the budding artists.
A special dance was also performed by the Raj Singh Raju the host school teacher who also conducted the stage proceedings. Later the participants were awarded with cash prizes.
