JKP recovered 72 kg poppy straw, arrested three

Continuing its drive against the menace of drug peddling, Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) Ramban arrested a truck driver along with two associates and seized 72 kilogram poppy straw.
Acting on a specific input, police party from police station Batote laid a Naka at national highway, near Captain Morh Batote. During checking of vehicles, a truck bearing registration no. JK02T-9837, was signaled for checking but sensing trouble, the driver of the truck tried to escape from the spot by accelerating his vehicle. But the active police party failed his plan.
The said truck was loaded with fruit boxes. During through checking 72 kilogram of poppy straw, concealed in seven plastic bags was recovered under the fruit boxes.
The Narcotic material was seized and accused driver of the truck alongiwth his associates has been arrested. They have been identified as Naresh Kumar son of Mangat Ram resident of Dalwas, Imtiaz Ahmed Lone son of Mohammad Abdullah resident of Akhal, Tehsil Devsor District Kulgam and Abdul Hamid Wani son of Gulam Mustafa Wani resident of Khull, Tehsil DH Pora, Kulgam.
Accordingly, a case has been registered under no. FIR No. 66/201s6 u/s 8/15/NDPS Act at police station Batote. The arrest has been made by police party headed by Station House Officer (SHO) Batote Rakesh Bamba under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban Randeep Kumar and Dy SP Hqrs Ramban Mohammad Rafiq Choudhary.
