JKSAC members stage protest



The Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) took out a protest rally in Kathua with the participation of a large number of Displaced Persons of 1947 against delay in sanctioning and releasing the balance amount out of Rs 30 lakh per family as recommended by the Joint Parliamentary.

The rally was led by the Sharnarthi Action Committee Kathua state President Gurudev Singh.

Gurdev Singh, President JKSAC appealed to the Governor Satya Pal Malik to take cognisance of the decade old issue of refugees the plight of whom was critically studied by the Joint Parliamentary Committee and recommended a onetime settlement package of Rs 30 lakh to each family.

They also submitted memorandum to PM Modi through Deputy Commissioner, District Kathua to take cognisance of their long pending genuine demands.

 The members of the DP families under the leadership of
Gurdev Singh, state president, assembled in the town and held protest demonstration. They were demanding implementation of JPC report.

They also other demanded adequate compensation of the left out (movable or immovable) property, quota in professional colleges/ jobs to the children of the DP families have not been included in the package. They also demanded reservation of their children in both state and central government services.

They said that from time to time, they projected their issues before the higher authorities but their issues could not be resolved.
