JMC conducts awareness camp for street vendors, distributes dustbins at Town hall

Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) organized an awareness camp for street vendors at Town Hall Jammu on the directions of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Dr. Manmohan Singh (KAS). Under Swachh Bharat Mission guidelines for Street vendors were issued by Ashwani Sudan, Revenue Officer, JMC to streamline the working of street vendors. The street vendors were directed to install their stalls in specified area by Jammu Municipal Corporation only and were also directed not to encroached road and footpaths leading to traffic congestion in the city.
They were further directed to get themselves registered in Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC). At the occasion the guidelines regarding maintenance of cleanliness in and around their working area, use of gloves and aprons and use of biodegradable items only were also issued.
The awareness programme for street vendors was organized in presence of Chief Account Officer, JMC Neeraj Gupta (KAS), Secretary, JMC Ranjeet Singh (KAS), Assistant Commissioner (Rev) Venakshi Koul (KAS) and Revenue Officers of JMC.
At the occasion the Jammu Municipal Corporation also distributed the dustbins and rehri plates with unique license identity numbers amongst the street vendors. The Joint Commissioner (A), JMC R.S. Jamwal (KAS) presided over the awareness programme.
