Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament along with Bali Bhagat minister for Health, Sham Choudhary minister for PHE, Rajeev Sharma, MLA Akhnoor constituency, Krishan Lal Bhagat MLA Chamb Constituency held a meeting with NHIDCL and Wadia Consultancy for expediting the process of upgrading of Jammu-Akhnoor National Highway for its four laning.
During meeting, Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP took stock of work done for the framing of Detailed project report and discussed the upcoming issues for upgradation and four laning of Jammu-Akhnoor National Highway.
Jugal Kishore Sharma revealed the present situation of the National highway as now-a-days it has become the accident prone area and many people lost their lives due to accident while plying their vehicle on the road.
He further added that the provision of funds was provided in the package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi but still the work is getting delayed in days and months. He instructed that all the legal formalities should be completed soon and DPR should be framed at the earnest so that the Constructed work for the 4 lanning of Jammu Akhnoor National Highway should get started. Sham Lal Choudhary Minister for PHE, I&Fc added that the graph of National Highway is made adjacent to the canal and service road must be constructed so that beautification of canal would be done and cleaning of canal can be done in equal span of times. Bali Bhagat minister for Health & Mla Raipur Domana Constitiuency said that the Jammu-Akhnoor National highway is the main feeder and primary source to reach most parts of his constituency and is should be constructed soon so that the inhabitants would get a sigh of relief.
Vijay Kumar General Manager NHIDCL and RN Kapoor TL Wadia Consultancy assured Member of Parliament and other dignatories that the Detailed feasibity report would be submitted till the end of July and further formalities would be completed soon to execute the work of said road.Team NHIDCL and Wadia Construction Company and senior BJP Pradeep Sharma & Surinder Ambardar MLC were also present at the same ocassion.
