Srinagar, December 30
The separatists have continued its two-day strike call in a week in the first fortnight of new year in Kashmir valley, which reeled under unrest since July 9.
This is for the second time since July 9, that there will be strike for just two days a week – Fridays and Saturdays.
In a similar protest calendar issued for the period December 15 till December 31, the separatist called for only two day strike call in a week. Both the factions of Hurriyat Conference (HC) and the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), spearheading the agitation since July 9, in their previous calendar had given relaxation in strike for only over the weekends.
Killing of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander Burhan Wani on July 8 triggered massive protests across the Valley, where over 91 civilians were killed and thousands of others were injured in security force action.
