Kashmir valley boils on WPRs issue

After boiling Kashmir valley for more than five months after the death of Hizbul Commander Burhan Wani, the separatists once again get the chance to maintain to boil the valley’s pot on the name of granting the citizenship rights to West Pakistan Refugees (WPRs). As on Friday (lastday), MLA Langate, Er Rashid, who is infamous for poking his nose in all the sensitive matters, staged yet another drama by sitting outside the Chief Minister’s residence in Srinagar against issuing domicile certificate to WPRs while on the other hand separatists had called for Kashmir bandh. The strike call didn’t evoke much response but Hurriyat dove Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and so-called JKLF Chief Yasin Malik staged protest in old city and in Lal Chowk respectively. This is the matter of grave concern for both security as well as for government. However, the locals of the valley are not in the mood of resuming shutdowns and protests as they were fedup with the ongoing daily shutdown calls given by separatists.
They want peace but under the threat from separatists they were compelled to give their side as if they won’t give their side then they have to face dire consequences from the so called separatists.
Already the valley business fratinity has suffered a huge loss and now once again they were complled to shut their business establishments on the unwanted protests. Separatists and people like Er Rashid want Kashmir to burn. People of the area can understand that separatists are dancing to the tunes of their bosses sitting across the Line of Control as they are on their payroll but what is making Er Rashid dance is a million dollar question?. Issue of WPRs have been living in Jammu for the past six decades but till date nothing has been done to rehabilitate them. One fails to understand how handful of people can change the demography of Jammu and Kashmir?
Even the elements inimical to peace in Kashmir are preparing ground for yet another agitation in the Valley so that they can set the ball rolling as soon as winter season is over in Kashmir. People of Kashmir should understand that a few people don’t want peace to prevail as it would lead to closure of their shops in the Valley. Granting citizenship rights to WPRs is the duty of the government. It would help these people to live a normal life. The people who are opposing their settlement are nothing more than the agents of Pakistan and terrorists. They are the same people who forced Kashmiri Pandits leave Kashmir by unleashing terror.
