Kathua Police thwarts bovine smuggling bid, rescues 11-bovines

In joist of the efforts initiated by Kathua Police to curb bovine smuggling menace, Kathua Police has succeeded in thwarting smuggling of bovines. The police team rescued 11-bovines from the truck of smugglers.

According to police sources, SHO Kathua along with his team laid an ambush next to Maggar Khad situated near river Ravi. At about 5 AM, the the driver of the truck coming from Punjab side, noticing the presence of Police stopped the truck a few meters before the naka and fled away from the spot availing the benefit of darkness. Following this, Police party during the checking of truck number JK02-AF-9867 recovered 11-bovines from truck. On this Case FIR No. 141/2016 U/S 188 RPC, 3/5 PCA Act stands registered at Police Station Kathua. SHO carried out operation under the directions of SSP Neeva Jain.
