Bound to reel under darkness due to laissez-faire attitude of Power Department the miffed habitants of village Kotpunnu staged protest demonstration in the premises of mini-secretariat. Later, the villagers met with DDC Ramesh Kumar and demanded of sorting out their problem.
Leading the protest Surjeet Singh said that in the absence of power the people are facing dissimilar hardships from last six months, with no fault of them. He alleged that despite collecting hefty bills from innocent consumers Power Department is least bothered to sort out their hardships. On one hand, there are unscheduled power cuts and on the other hand, department do not bother at all as far as the service of electricity is concerned.
“The transformer of the village damaged six months back and despite repeated pleas to tehsil level officers of concerning department, nothing has been done in the matter”, he miffed.
Alleging department officials responsible for their hardships, he said that the transformer installed is of 100 KV and having load of fifty motors and twenty houses. He said that whenever transformer damages, the department use to repair the same and fix it resulting into the next damage and then again damaging follow with repair.
“It is simply the wastage of public money, he peeved adding that they had repeatedly asked the department to enhance the capacity of transformer but they always turn a deaf ear to their demand,” he added.
Angrez Singh, Roshan Lal, Tilak Kumar, Nariender Kumar. Mangat Ram, Subash Chander, Prem Singh and many others were present on the occasion.
