Kathua, April 27
A protest demonstration was held by Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association, Kathua, against the killing of 3 Indian soldiers by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists at Kupwara on Thursday. District President of the Association Captain Gian Singh Pathania led the protesters.
Raising anti-Pakistan slogans and blaming Pakistan for fuelling terrorism in Kashmir, protesters strongly condemned the attack on army base camp and expressed solidarity with the families of the martyred jawans. They extended their heartfelt condolences to them. Speaking on the occasion, Pathania targeted Pakistan for its “mischievous designs” in sponsoring militant attacks on Indian defence bases.
“We condemn the Kupwara terror attack. Pakistan should be taken to task. It has been aiding and abetting terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir,” Pathania said.
“This is not for the first time that such a cowardly act has been performed by Pakistan. After losing soldiers and civilians, the government and its assurance to the people of India that effective measures were on the cards has failed to measure the damage being done to the morale of the troops deployed in the areas affected by insurgency,” Protesters said.
They asked Central Government to act tough and give a befitting reply to Pakistan without wasting time. It is appropriate time to strike back to Pakistan and teach a lesson once for all. Many other association members were also present during the protest.
