Kupwara Disappearance Case: Army Orders Probe

Amid persistent disappearance of three Kupwara men, army Wednesday ordered a probe into the case.

General officer Commanding of Srinagar-based 15 Corps Lt Gen Satish Dua has said that army ordered an inquiry into the case.

Pertinently, three Kupwara men—Ghulam Jeelani Khatana (42), Mir Hussain Khatana (45) and Ali Muhammad Sheikh (40)—are missing since November 17 last month. Their missing date coincided with the day when army claimed to kill militants in Kupwara encounter.

“If army’s role is established in the case,” Gen Dua said, “action will follow.”
