Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Education, Rajbagh Kathua organised symposium to mark the celebration of birth anniversary of main architect of Indian Constitution, Dr B R Ambedkar.
Principal Dr K K Sharma presided over the function whereas Director Shakti Kohli graced the occasion as chief guest.
The symposium competition started with the lightening of the traditional lamp and offering of floral tributes to the portrait of Dr B R Ambedkar by the Chief Guest.
The participating students including Neha Rajput, Shilpa, Rimpi Sharma, Kanchan Sharma, hem Raj and others throwing light on the life of Dr B R Ambedkar said that Baba Saheb was a symbol of equality and goodwill. He not only restored the rights to the backward class of society but also provided a powerful Constitution to our country.
The students further said that Dr. Ambedkar was not only a great social reformer, but he was also a Indian Jurist, political leader, philosopher, anthropologist, historian, orator, economist and editor, adding that the great social reformer throughout his whole life fought against social discrimination and equality of all citizens.
The students also threw light on the essence of knowing the legal rights and need to educate people so that their exploitation can be discouraged.
The Chief Guest congratulated the college management and staff members for organizing symposium, and stress that such type of program organized from time to time for improvement in the present system of education.
The programme ended with the presentation of formal vote of thanks by Principal Dr K K Sharma.
