Lalu keeps hope high on Nitish joining stir against note ban

Patna, December 22
As the deadline of 50 days promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi a few days after he proclaimed demonetisation that peoples’ hardship would be over,
is coming closer, the RJD has intensified its agitation and JD(U) is planning to revisit the issue.
The national presidents of RJD and JD(U), Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar, had taken a stand after the demonetisation which were contrary to each other. While Chief Minister Nitish had welcomed the decision on the alibi that it would help curb the black money, Lalu had strongly opposed it.
The RJD from Tuesday launched its agitation for public awareness and to unite them to challenge and oppose the demonetisation which brought immense hardships to them. The agitation will culminate into district level dharna on December 28 and the RJD workers and leaders have been asked to bring people to the dharna to be organised at all the 39 district headquarters. On the other hand, Nitish has declared that he would convene meeting of the party leaders to assess the situation arising out of the
demonetisation after 50 days. Even as the CM was not very clear some of the senior leaders of his party publicly said that their party might change stand on this issue after December 30.
Lalu, who is monitoring the agitation by his party, is hopeful that Nitish would join RJD’s protest. He said Nitish has promised him to review the situation and impact of the note-bandi.
The RJD supremo attacked PM Modi for “promoting” a wallet company in which Chinese company has major stake. “Aisa koi PM hota hai jo sare aam dusre desh yani China ki company ka prachar kar kahta ho Paytm karlo Paytm. Paytm ka matlab pay to me. Matlab mujhe paisa do. (Never seen a PM promoting a company of another country. Paytm means pay to me. Give me your money)”, Lalu tweeted.
Taking a dig at Lalu and JD(U), senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi said that Nitish was being forced by RJD, Congress and some leaders of JD(U) to change his stand on demonetisation and he might take a turn after December 30.
“The check and mate game in the ruling alliance is going on and the internal differences, clash and lack of trust has come to the fore. Lalu is pressurising Nitish to change his stand and the CM may toe RJD and Congress line just to save his chair,” the former Deputy CM claimed.
