A spell of fresh rains along with hailstorm on Tuesday night brought much needed relief from the scorching heat in Jammu, wherein the mercury touched 44 degrees.
The rains resulted in a sharp dip in the temperatures hovering around 44 degrees Celsius over the past week.
The winter capital of the state had witnessed 44.2 degree Celsius on Tuesday. Regarding the forecast for next 24 hours, the weatherman said that sky will remain clear, but in the evening moderate rainfall is expected in the Jammu region during the next 24 hours.
Following the rain, people were seen cheering on streets and families were enjoying on terraces. “This rain is like blessing, as the sweltering temperature and unscheduled cuts had left people in great hardships.
Meanwhile, they anticipated that this rain could last longer, so that Jammu people may heave sigh of relief.
However, agricultural experts claimed that this rain and hailstorms are good for the next crop, as it has made the soil fertile.
