LC Stresses for early release of salary of SSA teachers

A meeting of the Committee
on Subordinate Legislation of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly was held here today under the Chairmanship of MLA, Bashir Ahmed Dar to examine the recruitment rules of Education Department.
Legislators, Mubarak Gul, Abdul Majeed Larmi, Ch. Qamar Hussain and Ranbir Singh Pathania attended the meeting and gave their suggestions to make the Education Department more effective and result oriented. Threadbare discussions were held to examine the rules, regulations and by-rules etc of Education Department. The Committee suggested that the recruitment policy of the department for teachers and lecturers should be transparent. It also suggested that the department should provide compensation to land owners for construction of school buildings. The Committee stressed upon the concerned officers to take necessary steps for releasing the salary of the teachers who are working under SSA. The committee also emphasized to improve infrastructure and allied facilities for laboratories and smart classes.
The Committee suggested that the government must take steps for providing basic infrastructure like water supply, power and road connectivity well before construction of schools buildings.
Director, School Education Jammu, Babila Rakwal, State Secretary JK BOSE Veena Pandita, State Project Director SSA/RMSA, Saugat Biswas, besides senior officers of concerned department and Assembly Secretariat were present on the occasion.
