Newspoint Bureau
Srinagar, April 25
Normal life was today crippled in some parts of civil lines here due to strike against detention of a youth allegedly under Pubic Safety Act (PSA).
Meanwhile, some roads leading to Maisuma in civil lines were closed with barbed wires by security forces to maintain law and order though pedestrian movement was allowed in the area. Shops and business establishments were closed and traffic was off the roads in Maisuma, strong hold of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), against detention of the youth, Ashiq Dar, under PSA. On April 22, clashes erupted between security forces and protesters, including women, who took to streets demanding that the youth should be released immediately.
