LPEF urges Guv to release 6% DA to employees

Feb 23: All J&K Low Paid Employees’ Federation (LPEF) has stressed upon Governor NN Vohra to release 6% DA installment from July 2015 in favour of State Government employees and pensioners.
Addressing largely attended meetings of employees at Sunderbani and Rajouri, LPEF president, Abdul Majid Khan, made an appeal to Governor NN Vohra for releasing pending DA installment due since July 2015, in cash forthwith besides enhancing medical allowance to Rs 1000 per month, minimum daily wage to Rs 300 and remuneration of village guard at par with minimum daily wage rate in the State.
He said that employees and pensioners are reeling under the onslaught of sky rocketing prices of essential goods of daily consumption while the State Government is doing nothing to provide them any kind of relief.
Khan also stressed upon the Governor to regularize adhoc, contractual workers and daily wage workers including those engaged after 1994, on priority basis.
At Sunderbani, Balwant Raj, president, local unit of LPEF, presided over the meeting while at Rajouri, Basharat Hussain, an activist of the Federation chaired the meeting.
