Members in the Lok Sabha today urged the Centre to take immediate steps for rehabilitation and welfare of displaced persons (DPs) from Kashmir.
Taking part in a resumed discussion on Private Member resolution, moved by BJP Member Nishikant Dubey on March 20, on immediate steps for rehabilitation and welfare of displaced persons from Kashmir, BJD member Bhartruhari Mahtab said registered Kashmiri migrant families were living in Jammu, Delhi and other states of the country.
”Has things changed in the Valley”, he questioned, wondering, ”why should the Government provide security to those people who speak against India? ”
He said those people who have migrated from Kashmir and have settled in different parts of the country, have every right to return back to the Valley. ”I support the resolution and also urge the House to unanimously support the resolution,” he said.
BJP Member Hukmdev Narayan Yadav urged the Centre to do all the needful for rehabilitation and welfare of displaced persons from Kashmir. ”Why no other Indian can go to Kashmir and buy the land and also settle there”, he questioned. (AGENCIES)
