National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana on Saturday criticised PDP-BJP coalition for sabotaging transfer of power to people of Jandrah by delaying functioning of Tehsil office sanctioned over two years ago.
“The obstructive tactics of the government reflect its anarchic and anti-people attitude”, Rana said while referring to callous delay despite assurance in the Legislative Assembly about staff-sanctioning being examined by the Finance Department. He said he took up this issue vociferously in the assembly last year and early this year but except for assurances the government did practically nothing on ground.
Interacting with party workers during his extensive visit of Jandrah area in Nagrota Assembly Constituency, he said the people of the area have made clear to the government that if tehsil office is not made functional by this month end they will have no option but to take to streets.
Rana said that the historic decision of carving out new administrative units across the state was aimed at giving impetus to development and taking administration to peoples’ door-steps, thus relieving them of spending days and traveling long distances in pursuit of redressal of administrative matters. The MLA Nagrota also dwelt upon issues like power, drinking water and supply of rations and expressed concern over rate enhancement of food grains provided through CAPD outlets. Referring to the obtaining security and political environment, Mr Rana urged the people to maintain vigil against divisive forces, saying unity and amity were forceful tools to isolate those, who were desperate to generate wedge in the society to hide their failures on deliverance front.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Provincial Vice President Anil Dhar besides Ram Parshotam, Kishori Lal Sharma, Raghuvir Singh, Pritam Singh, Mohan Lal, Angrej Singh, Haji Rafiq, Haji Bashir and others.
