Malhotra reviews implementation of various Farmers Welfare Schemes

During his Visit to Ramban District, the Director of Agriculture Jammu A K Malhotra, held a detailed review meeting on the implementation of various farmers’ welfare schemes in Ramban district. The meeting was attended by the Chief Agriculture Officer, H K Razdan, Officers Incharge of the Gool & Ramban Sub Divisions, Agriculture Extension Officers, Soil Conservation Assistants, Junior Agri Ext. Officers (JAEOs), Village Agriculture Extension Assistants (VAEAs) and other non-gazetted staff of the executive and ministerial cadre.

The Director Agriculture revealed during the meeting that the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of the prestigious Apiculture Development Project of Ramban district prepared on the directions of the Chief Minister of J&K State has been technically vetted by SKUAST, Jammu. He directed the Bee-keeping staff of the district to immediately prepare the prioritized plan of action for its immediate implementation.

Malhotra also reviewed all the Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) being implemented under Agriculture Sector. He directed the officers and field functionaries to visit the fields regularly to have complete feedback about the problems and difficulties of the farmers and ensure that the schemes are implemented as per guidelines and the benefit reaches to them.

H K Razdan, CAO, Ramban earlier gave a detailed preview of various schemes under implementation including organic farming cluster at Maroong (Digdole), Soil Analysis and Soil Health Card distribution and assured the Director Agriculture that all the farmers’ welfare schemes will be implemented well in time. The Director Agriculture also inspected and reviewed the working of newly established Soil Testing Laboratory.
