Man arrested for trying to deposit counterfeit notes in bank

Feb 26:  Gangyal police arrested a man for trying to deposit counterfeit notes in a private bank amounting Rs 16,500.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gangyal police station conducted a raid and arrested a man, who was at large number for the past over two months.
The accused has been identified as Shubham Krishan Joshi, son of Sri Kant Joshi, a resident of Durga Nagar, Janipur.
The accused was evading his arrest for the past over two months in the case registered against him under FIR Number 188/15 under Section 489-A, 489-B, 489-C, 489-D and 489-E.
According to the case, the accused tried to deposit 33 counterfeit notes in the denomination of Rs 500 in a private bank at Gangyal, but the bank officials noted that the currency notes were fake.
The bank officials informed the police, but the accused fled from the scene and landed in police net today.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain the source of fake currency.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal police station Inspector Aejaz Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta, SP South Shaazad Salaria and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
