Srinagar, April 19
A man was killed and two others were injured in firing during a clash between two groups today over a land dispute in Uri in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.
Official sourcessaid that two groups entered into a heater argument over a land dispute, leading to an altercation at Uri in Baramulla.
They said a person opened fire with his 12-bore rifle during the scuffle, resulting in injuries to three people.
The injured were immediately taken to a local hospital, where one of them, identified as Javed Ahmad Chalkoo, was declared brought dead.
After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites. Police have registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident, they added.
