Mathura violence on action of law-enforcing agencies against law-breaking encroachers raise many big questions on usual political patronage to encroachers. This nuisance problem unfortunately exists throughout the country including even capital city of India. Political rules in states including in UP are quick enough to announce a package of compensation/reliefs to those having died not only on duty but even during their service-tenure which includes compensation in crores, land/apartment and government-service to family-member/s which are even bargained by families of deceased ones. But in present case, no such instant relief for families of brave police-officers Superintendent of Police Mukul Dwidi and SHO Santosh Yadav was announced by the state-government. Rather such relief/compensation was instantly announced by several governments in case of NIA officer Tanzeem Ahmed where later it was revealed that he was killed in some family-rivalry. There must be a uniform policy for paying compensation rather than it varying from case to case depending on political requirements of government/s announcing reliefs/compensations. Unfortunately even national capital is being converted into a city for law-breakers with Delhi Police and various civic-bodies becoming mute spectators to mushrooming encroachments on roads, footpaths, pathways leading to metro-stations and parks apart from regular growth of jhuggie-clusters that too despite repeated orders from Supreme Court, Delhi High Court and National Green Tribunal (NGT).
Encroachments in name of religion when tried to be removed under court-directions are effectively resisted under patronage of rival political parties evidently because of vote-bank politics. It is time that central and state government in Delhi join hands for a crash programme to clear encroachments from roads, footpaths, pathways, parks and other public-places including made in name of religion. Lt Governor of Delhi should direct Delhi Police and civic bodies for clearing all encroachments.
