Clothes worth Two Lakh rupees distributed among individuals

Media Association Kupwara under the aegis of The Kashmir Clarion distributed warm unstitched clothes among the fire victims of Wader Payeen on Sunday. Many individuals including journalists had contributed nearly two lakh rupees for the nobel cause. The journalists who were part of the initiative included Javid Zarger President Media Association Kupwara and In charge North Kashmir Desk of The Kashmir Clarion, Yahya Sultan Vice-President MAK and ETV reporter from Kupwara, reporters & representatives of Greater-Kashmir, Rising Kashmir, Kashmir Images, Daily Aftab, Tameel e Irshad, API, Kashmir Uzma, Zee Media and Tariq Rather of Daily Chatan.
The team lead by Javid Zarger also distributed School bags besides 2500/ rupees each to four widows and one thousand rupees to a student in cash.
Meanwhile appreciating the efforts of media to reach out to them with help, the fire victims expressed dismay over the sluggish approach of government in extending support in this hour of crises. The locals added that non-availability of Fire engines in a stretch of nearly twenty Kilometers inhabiting 96 villages has been a major deterrent in preventing huge losses during fire accidents. They demanded that a fire services station be established in the area.
The fire victims of Wader Payeen also demanded the construction of pre-fabricated sheds on war footing basis and claimed that the tents provided by the district administration were insufficient.
