Mehbooba addresses roadside election meetings in Anantnag

Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti today reiterated her resolve to carry forward the mission and vision of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for ushering Jammu and Kashmir into an era of peace, stability and prosperity.
“PDP has established clear political priorities and we would continue our struggle to seek resolution of the multiple problems faced by Jammu and Kashmir on political, economic, developmental, administrative and financial fronts,” Mehbooba Mufti said while addressing a series of roadside public meetings during day-long campaigning for by-poll to Anantnag assembly segment, wherefrom she is seeking mandate as a PDP candidate. The by-elections to Anantnag assembly segment, necessitated due to the demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, are slated to be held on June 22. Mehbooba, who is also the President of PDP, said the party began its journey in 1999 under the visionary leadership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to transform the monopolistic political discourse in Jammu and Kashmir.
Mehbooba said the driving force for PDP’s emergence as a robust regional force is the public support it has got for its pro-people policies, “without which the party could have not achieved much.” “I compliment the PDP cadres for effectively carrying the party’s pro-people agenda to the grassroots and working tirelessly towards implementation of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s political, economic and developmental vision for Jammu and Kashmir,” she said.
“We would continue to work towards accomplishing the vision of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to create a space of dignity, opportunity and prosperity for the p eople of Jammu & Kashmir, especially our emancipated youth,” she asserted and said that like other parts of the State, Mufti Sahab always wanted to restore the historic glory of Anantnag, which has faced huge development deficit due to political neglect in the past.
“I will try to realise my father’s dream of addressing the developmental concerns of the people in every part of the State including Anantnag,” she said.
“PDP is committed to the welfare of the common men and women of Jammu and Kashmir and as a part of the coalition government in the State, the party is working tirelessly to implement its welfare agenda,” she said and added that whether in or outside power, PDP has stood by the people of the State and never compromised on their interests and it would continue to uphold the same ideals.
