Mehbooba Mufti hits out at Centre as Pak refuses airspace to Srinagar-Sharjah flight

Former J&K Chief Minister and PDP President, Mehbooba Mufti Wednesday accused the government of India for lack of groundwork in securing permission from Pakistan to use its airspace for the direct Srinagar-Sharjah flight started recently amid much fanfare.

Go First, which started the direct Srinagar-Sharjah flight on October 23 flagged by Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, was forced to take the longer route of the flight on Tuesday after Pakistan closed its airspace. Greater Kashmir while quoting sources carried an exclusive report on the development.

“Puzzling that GOI didn’t even bother securing permission from Pakistan to use its airspace for international flights from Srinagar. Only PR extravaganza without any groundwork, ” Mehbooba wrote in a tweet while sharing the exclusive GK report.
