PDP President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti have again accused the police of putting her under house arrest. Police have banned Mehbooba from going outside and inside her locked house outside the Fairview Gupkar residence in Srinagar. It is being told that, like in Jammu, Mehbooba Mufti was preparing to take out a fury rally with her supporters in protest against the death of locals killed in Hyderpora encounter in Srinagar.
During her visit to Jammu, Mehbooba Mufti and her supporters took out a protest rally against the Hyderpora encounter and demanded a judicial inquiry into the matter. He said that the security forces are making their shields to the ordinary people during the encounter; there is anger among the people here. But, on the other hand, Mehbooba Mufti says that she would meet the relatives of Altaf and Dr Mudassar, who were killed in the Hyderpora encounter, not a protest rally.
She said she wanted to meet their families and offer condolences to them, but as she was preparing to leave her house, her security guards closed the main gate and asked her to stay indoors. It is also learned that Mehbooba Mufti expressed intense anguish over this attitude of the police and also spoke to senior officers in this regard, but she was not allowed to step out.
