Jammu Tawi, May 29
A group of about dozen members belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community called on Vice Chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Backward Classes Development Corporation Limited, Balbir Ram Rattan, at Corporation Head Office, Jammu, on Tuesday to have information related to various welfare schemes meant for the benefit of the unemployed persons of their category.
During their interaction with the Vice Chairperson, they had a number of queries with regard to the procedure, formalities, rate of interest and the maximum limit of the loan. They also sought information about the projects which can be set up by the financial assistance availed from the Corporation.
The Vice Chairperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, told them that J&K, SC, ST, BC Development Corporation works for the socio-economic upliftment of Target Groups, which include Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Persons with physical disabilities, Minorities notified at the National Level and those from Safai Karamchari class and any unemployed member from these communities can avail loan to set up own earning unit. He further told them that the Corporation has its offices at District Levels and one do not have to travel long to capital cities adding that every kind of information can be availed at District level and even the forms too are available there.
Balbir Ram Rattan exhorted the members to do a service to their community by educating the unemployed persons from amongst them to apply for financial assistance from the Corporation and stand on their own instead of sitting idle and waiting for the government job.
