After failing to infiltrate to Indian side, Pakistan sponsored militants now using modern equipments for crossing the borders which is a matter of concern for government as well as for security forces who are guarding the borders. As Border Security Forces (BSF) has recovered a Night Vision Device reportedly used by terrorists who were killed by security forces last month along the International Border in Samba district during a combing operation.
The operation by BSF was carried out to locate and secure cross-border tunnels used by terrorists to enter the Indian territory and defuse improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Three terrorists had infiltrated into India via a tunnel along the IB in Chamliyal of Ramgarh sector on November 29, but were killed by Border Security Forces in an encounter.
This is not the first time when terrorists use modern equipments already they used silencer fitted weapons for gaining entry in the Nagrota army camp wherein they killed several soldiers few weeks ago in Jammu. However, the area along International Border (IB) wherein the militants had entered and encounter took place was ploughed to find any tunnel or IED or grenades in Chamliyal area, as per BSF reports. Security forces are taking several steps to defusing the entry of these militants to Indian side and also taking precautionary measure but after that the militant outfits are using more advance equipments as compare to Indian security forces. For this, central government who is mulling to get new and modern equipments for its security as well as for its army to get rid of the problems which they get during winters and foggy days. But the necessity of modernization of security forces is must and government should soon provide them new equipments so that they can easily detect the movement of infiltration across the border and foil their any attempt to infiltrate to Indian side.
Even the step was taken to dismantle tunnels, and defuse IEDs and grenades the militants might have left out. A Night Vision Device was found from site of the encounter during digging, he said. The device reportedly belonged to the terrorists and was used by them to locate their way and the movement of security forces. BSF had last month decided to scan the areas after they found that the terrorists had infiltrated via a 70-feet tunnel along IB in Samba district before being gunned down. “We will scan the borderline to find if any more such tunnels are in the area,” the officer said. Inspector General of BSF, Jammu Frontier, D K Upadhayaya had confirmed on December 1 that the militants “had come out to this side via a tunnel on the intervening night of November 28 and 29 in Chamliyal area.
