Minister of State for Forests, Ecology & Environment, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Cooperatives and Fisheries Mir Zahoor Ahmad today called for massive awareness and publicity for ensuring that the Centrally and State sector schemes percolate to the targeted populace.
The instructions were given by the Minister during his extensive tour of various areas of district Budgam today. He also took stock of the people’s problems besides developmental needs.
A team of senior Officers of various departments besides Former Member Legislative Assembly, Dr. Shafi Ahmad Wani accompanied the Minister during his tour.
During the visit, the Minister inspected Narbal, Beerwah and Khag Fish Farms and took stock of the functioning of these units. He also inspected office of the Animal Husbandry Ratsun and Beerwah and got appraisal of the facilities available at these Centres.
While responding to the demands of the people of different areas, the Minister said that necessary instructions have already been given to the officers to ensure time bound completion of all developmental initiatives being undertaken in Animal, Sheep husbandry, Fisheries, Cooperatives and Forest departments. He said that the schemes of these departments have the potential of elevating the socio-economic profile of the people besides providing the much needed job opportunities to the them.
Addressing a large public gathering at Committee Hall in S.K. Pora, the Minister said that the Government led by the Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti is committed to provide equitable development of all the three regions of the State. He said efforts are under way to upgrade the basic infrastructure of all core sectors including health, education, power and Public Health Engineering (PHE).
