MLA flags off Chhari Mubarak procession

MLA Havelli Shah Mohd Tantrey, MLC Shehnaz Ganai, Deputy Chairman Legislative Councils, Jhangir Hussain Mir and Viboud Gupta flagged off religious procession carry the holy mace “Chhari Mubarak” from Dashnami Akhara Poonch here this morning for
making the final ritual of the Annual Sojourn.
Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Mohammad Harun Malik, SSP Poonch J S Johar ADC Gurvinderjeet Singh ACR Ashraf Choudhary and other senior officers from police and district administration were there besides prominent citizens and representatives of some political parties, members of Yatra Management Committee and locals large in numbers irrespective of religions were also present on the occasion.
Nearly one lakh yatris from different parts of the country arrived here for holy darshan of Buddha Amarnath ji Yatra this year which also includes the local devotees who participated in Charri Mubarak today.
Amidst tight security arrangements, the religious heads chanted vedic hymns, the procession left the Dashnami Akhara after performing religious rituals “Charri Pugan” performed by Swami ji Maharaj “Chief Priest” for Holy Darshan at Buddha Amarnath.
MLC Viboud Gupta and some religious heads of Bajrang Dal, Vishav Hindu Parashid who arrived here from different parts of the country appreciated the people of Poonch for their composite, culture and pluralistic tradition and expressed the hope that it will further help in upholding and flourishing centuries old traditions of brotherhood and communal harmony with same spirit. Gupta said that this tradition of pluralistic sentiment and thought of composite cultural in Poonch is a thresh hold for the rest of the region of the states as well as the country. Deputy Chairman Legislative Council Jhangir Hussain Mir said Poonch is a place of sufis and saints and their teachings are always pitched for tolerance, goodwill and mutual respect for all the religions and no one dared to harm this inherited centuries old teachings of sufis and saints. Speaking on the occasion, MLA Haveli Shah Mohd Tantrey said the Government has made elaborate arrangements for providing necessary facilities to the Yatris coming from outside of the State so that Yatris while coming back to their native places gave a good message there. He further said the participation of people cutting across the religious lines and faiths in Buddha Amarnath Yatra exemplifies the deep trust of different communities in the District.
While greeting the devotees, MLC Shenaz Ganai said Poonch is a famous not only for its external beauty of beautiful lush green mountains covering with snow, green and thick forests and rivers with fresh water, but the people of Poonch are much more beautiful for upholding the tradition of religious tolerance, participation in others religious festival, maintaining communal harmony and social fabrics, which is known not only in state of J&K but also in rest of the India.
