In a simple but impressive function Member of Legislative Council Yashpal Sharma today inaugurated lane and drain constructed out of his constituency development fund in Panchayat Kharian, Indira Nagar (RS Pura). Speaking on the occasion, Member of Legislative Council Yashpal Sharma said that the state government is committed to work for the overall development of rural areas. We have redefined participative democracy and given our citizens real say in development. There are number of schemes especially earmarked by the central and state government for the upliftment of villages.
Meanwhile in an interaction with the large number of local populace largely 1947 POK displaced section of the area, he listened in length the various core issues being faced by the Refugee community and assured the affected population of their redressal in a phased manner. He also announced five lakh more out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for the construction of more lanes and drains in the area.
Others who were present on the occasion included Bushan Dogra, vice-chairman of Board for the upliftment of Scheduled Castes, Harjeet Singh (ex-Panch), Om Parkash Khajuria, Master Yog Raj and Ramesh Manhas.
