In an urgent meeting of the non-official members of the Governing Body of Mubarak Mandi Jammu Heritage Society (MMJHS), the members expressed their serious concern regarding the fast deteriorating condition of the buildings of Mubarak Mandi Complex and the official apathy towards this prestigious heritage, which is the symbol of identity of the Dogras.
They decided to stage a Dharna at the Mubarak Mandi complex on December 26, 2016 in case no meeting is held for the purpose.
The members recalled that in an earlier meeting, the members had requested the Chief Minister, who is the President of the Governing Body of the MMJHS, through press and also through a letter (Dated 30th Nov, 2016), to meet the non-official members so that the factual position may be placed before her to plan and decide the appropriate course of action to save this prestigious complex from destruction.
However the members noted with pain that no opportunity has been provided to them, in spite of their request. Non-official members of the governing Body who participated in the meeting included Th. Gulchain Singh Charak-Former Chairperson of the Executive Committee, Maj. Gen G.S Jamwal, Prof. Lalit Magotra, Narinder Singh Jamwal- Ex. Mayor, Prof. Veena Gupta, A.V Gupta-Sr. Advocate and others.
