Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Former Minister today issued a press statement in which he said that the Modi govt. has totally failed to fight against terrorism in the country as well as in the state. He said that it is a matter of great concern that the number of terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country is increasing every day since the formation of the BJP govt. but the govt. is just talking and giving slogans. Dr. Sharma strongly condemned the recent barbaric attack by the terrorists on the innocent yatris of holy Amarnath Yatra in which 8 people were killed and 19 were injured in Anantnag in Kashmir valley. This act of terrorism is highly condemn-able and shameful inhuman act. He said that it is very unfortunate that the govt. has failed to provide full proof security to the yatris of Shiri Baba Amarnath Yatra in spite of serious apprehension of terrorist attacks and timely intelligence inputs. Dr. Sharma said that Modi ji and his associates never missed an occasion to accuse Congress and Dr. Manmohan Singh by using statements like “Manmohan Singh write love letters to Pakistan” and “A 56-inch chest is needed to fight Pakistan”. What happened now? Why is BJP silent? And do what they talked about. Dr. Sharma said that we should unite and fight against terrorism irrespective of party politics and region and religion. He said that we don’t believe in politics on terrorism and security of the country but the nation will not forget the compromises in security taken by the BJP govt. like the release of dreaded militant Azhar Maqsood of Jas-e-Muhammad and his 3 associates who were involved in Kandhar Airplane hijacking. He said that the same Azhar Maqsood Chief of Jas-e-Muhammad was involved in the Pathankot Airbase attack and Nagrota army base attack.
He said that the people of the nation want a concrete step to curve militancy and do not have faith in the words and hollow slogans of BJP govt. He said that people of the nation are tired of listening the false statements of BJP against terrorism and Pakistan sponsored proxy war. Dr Sharma launching a scathing attack on BJP-PDP coalition for prevailing mess and uncertainty in state, He regretted that during the last three years, the present regime has spoiled the peaceful atmosphere which was achieved by the previous Government. He said that the unholy alliance of BJP and PDP creates an atmosphere of confusion and chaos in the state which ultimately disrupts the administration to act on such untoward incidents. He said that more than 1300 cease fire violations on the international border and LOC by Pakistan have happened during their tenure. He further said that more than 200 brave soldier of the India Army, paramilitary forces, Jammu and Kashmir police and a large number of innocent civilians were killed in Jammu and Kashmir in militant attacks since the formation of the BJP govt. He said that the failure of the government exposed the real face of BJP and its leadership before the public of the region.
