Mufti to inspect mega projects

Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is going to inspect mega projects of Jammu on December 7 to assess the progress and hurdles in their timely completion. This would be first major on-spot inspection of the projects by the Chief Minister following opening of Darbar at winter capital in the month of November.
Official sources told  that Chief Minister accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, several Ministers and top officers of the different departments will inspect work on new Legislature Complex coming up near the Civil Secretariat.
Chief Minister will assess the progress made by the Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) till date. Even the requirement of additional funds for completion of this project keeping in view price escalation would also come up for discussion with the officers of the project executing agency and the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Department.
Thereafter, Mufti Sayeed would inspect work on Dental Hospital coming up at Ambphalla, which is slated to be completed by July next year. Similarly, he will assess progress on Bikram Chowk-Convent School flyover, the work on which is being carried out by J&K Economic Reconstruction Agency.
During the day-long inspection, Chief Minister will also ascertain progress on ropeway project, maternity hospital at Gandhi Nagar and progress made on Belicharana bridge till date.
“During the on-spot inspection of these mega projects, the hurdles, if any, as well as financial constraints would come up for discussion”, sources said, adding “on the directions of the Chief Minister, the Chief Secretary and Divisional Commissioner, Jammu are reviewing the progress of these projects periodically in order to ensure their timely completion”.
Mufti Sayeed had last inspected these projects in the month of April this year. Besides mega project of Jammu, he is also closely monitoring progress on similar projects in summer capital city. Before closure of Darbar at Srinagar, Chief Minister carried out inspection of mega projects of summer capital twice-first on September 23 and thereafter on October 26.
