MVD organises ‘Road Safety’ awareness camp

Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Ramban organised an awareness programme on Road Safety at Bus Stand Ramban here today. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban Randeep Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion SSP Ramban advised the participants to avoid over speeding, racing, drunken driving, use of mobile phone while driving, wrong overtaking and underage driving to stop loss of precious human lives and asked participants to take all necessary measures as well as follow the traffic rules for safe driving and healthy life.
Responding to the demands put forth by the president Transport Union Ramban, SSP assured that a water cooler shall be installed at Bus Stand Ramban shortly by the police department.
While addressing the gathering, ARTO Ramban Shammi Kumar suggested some preventive measures to minimise the accidents on the road. He asked the participants to keep vigilance on the drivers’ activities while travelling. Dy. SP Traffic Kameshwar Puri while interacting with the participants informed that more than 80% road accidents can be stopped by obeying the traffic rules. He stressed upon the youth to bear helmet and seat belt while driving 2-wheeler or 4-wheeler to avoid fatal injuries.
Inspector MVD Ramban, officers of various departments, representatives of Transport Unions, staff members, large numbers of drivers, conductors and prominent people attended the function.
