National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has called an all-party meeting on Friday on the ongoing unrest and violent protests in Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
With Friday being the last day of the monsoon session of Parliament, most of the political parties are of the opinion that the government should start a dialogue process with the people of Kashmir Valley and send an all-party delegation to hold talks with people of the state.
“Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had shown us the way, and we will follow his footsteps. Insaniyat (Humanity), Kashmiriyat (Kashmiri values) and Jamooriyat (democracy) are the way forward. Freedom experienced by every Indian is also for every Kashmiri. Peace, unity and social harmony are the way forward; I urge the youth of Kashmir to take part in this process,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said at a public meeting in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday.
NDA leaders have assured both the houses of Parliament that the government will speak to chief minister Mehbooba Mufti and prepare a ground for an all-parry delegation to Jammu and Kashmir.
