National Development Foundation organises advocacy

National Development Foundation in partnership with UNICEF in collaboration with Directorate of Integrated Child Protection Scheme J&K Govt on Tuesday organised an advocacy workshop for strengthening Juvenile Justice Act and Integrated Child Protection Scheme in J&K at Engineers Institute, Channi Himmat Jammu. Sajad Ahmad Khan IAS, Commissioner Secretary Social Welfare J&K Jammu was the chief guest during the programme. Talat Parvez KAS State Mission Director ICPS, D.D. Pandy Regional Director NIPCDD I/c ICPS for northern states, Rajiv Khajuria Founder Emeritus National Development Foundation, Vir Ji Hangloo KAS Director Social Welfare Jammu, Mubassir Latifi KPS SSP (P) PHQ Jammu, Dr. Harjeet Rai Divisional Nodal Officer NHM Jammu, Manmeet Bali State Nodal Officer Child Protection Education Deptt. participated in the workshop. Rajiv Khajuria shared the objective of the workshop i.e. to develop an understanding between the various stakeholders on the provisions of ICPS scheme and Juvenile Justice Act and to develop convergence between the various departments working for children to ensure overall care and protection of children in conflict with law and children in need of care and protection. Commissioner Secretary Social Welfare Sajad Ahmad Khan asked the participants to work with full letter and spirit to ensure the care and protection of the children. He apprised that the workshop has enabled the various stakeholders to come up on a single platform to understand the functioning and schemes of various departments and it will definitely benefit all the participants for their future interventions and plans while dealing with the children in need of care and protection.
