Natrang to stage Bawa Jitto in Jhiri Mela on November 22, 23

Natrang is going to present a mega theatrical show on the supreme sacrifice of Dogra folk legend Bawa Jitto at Jhiri Mela-2018 on 22nd and 23rd November, 7:00 pm at Jhiri.

This was informed today by the Director Natrang, Balwant Thakur at Natrang Studio Theatre while briefing the media that staging of Bawa Jitto at Jhiri is going to be the ultimate attraction of Jhiri Mela 2018.

Natrang has been organizing the shows of Bawa Jitto for the last 13 years at Jhiri Mela which have been witnessed by lakhs of people.

The mega theatre shows of Bawa Jitto by Natrang will be supported by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and Bawa Jitmal Shrine Mela Committee. This is a rarest opportunity for the audience to live through a 600 years old saga, in memory of which the festival is held every year.

Thakur thanked Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board for giving sustenance support to the globally acclaimed play, which is now being performed regularly since last 33 years and has created the history for being the longest-living theatre production of the country thus bringing top honours for Dogri language and culture.
Balwant Thakur also thanked the District Development Commissioner Jammu, Romesh Kumar for extending full cooperation and logistic support for holding the mega event.

Giving further details Balwant Thakur said, “No where on this earth one can one find this kind of devoted and captive audience, the kind of audience one gets for a theatre performance at Jhiri Mela.”

Balwant Thakur said that Natrang has a mission to create Jhiri a global cultural destination through the presentation of this play and appealed all the stakeholders to support this endeavor of Natrang wholeheartedly.
Based on the supreme sacrifice of a great devotee of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, the current series was supported by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.
