District President National Conference Ramban, Mr Sajjad Shaheen on Monday decried politics of hate and intolerance being pursued by Bharatiya Janata Party, saying it is a big danger to democratic polity of a state like Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing block functionaries of Banihal, Mr Shaheen said that the sagacious people of the state, irrespective of caste, creed and colour, have always rejected divisive politics, as their faith in democratic values has been unflinching. “National Conference has all along strived for bringing the people of different religions and regions together and therefore it will resist every attempt of trampling this glorious ethos of the state”, he added.
Shaheen assailed PDP for becoming a facilitator to implement the RSS agenda through BJP. “This kind of deception is not new, as the PDP from its very inception has been functioning as Xerox copy of the BJP”, he said and cautioned the people to remain vigilant against nefarious designs of peace inimical elements.
On the occasion, Safdar Ali Wani, a retired banker and others joined the National Conference and expressed their resolve to work as foot soldiers of the party and further strengthening it at the grass roots level. Shaheen welcomed them in the party fold and hoped that they will reach out to people and help them by highlighting their problems at appropriate forums.
