State Vice President National Conference Th Kashmira Singh and Co-Chairman OBC Cell Abdul Gani Teli have expressed anguish over denial of basic minimum facilities to the people, saying the government has failed on front of deliverance despite making lofty promises.
“People are craving for power and drinking water facilities, especially in these months of scorching summer but the administration seems to be in deep slumber which is evident from frequent and unscheduled power cuts for hours and scarcity of drinking water in most of Jammu areas”, Th Kashmira Singh while addressing the party workers at Sanjay Nagar here.
Th Kashmira Singh, who was chief guest at the function organised by NC OBC Cell, said that long-hours cuts have made the life of people miserable and low voltage has been major irritant that has caused damages to household electrical gadgets immensely. He particularly made a mention of Sanjay Nagar and said that the residents were suffering due to lack of civic amenities and the choked drains and heaps of garbage was posing grave threat to public health. He sought immediate corrective measures to ensure health and hygiene in the area. Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Gani Teli said that despite protests and submission of memorandum to the concerned officials, the administration has done nothing to mitigate the problems faced by Sanjay Nagar residents. He said the area presents most shabby picture due to callousness of the government. “Jammu Municipal Corporation has utterly failed in ensuring basic utility services in the area”, he complained.
Teli cautioned the government against testing patience of people and said that they will be forced to come on streets if the administration fails in satiating urges of the people by ensuring regulated power and drinking water services besides improving civic amenities.
