NCC National Integration Camp held at Srinagar

Major General SS Jakhar, Additional Director General NCC J&K reviewed the activities of the All India Special National Integration Camp being held at JAK LI Regimental Centre, Rangreth, Srinagar from 25 May 2016 to 05 June 2016. On arrival he was received by Brigadier SD Mehta, Group Commander, NCC Group Srinagar. 400 NCC Cadets and Associate NCC Officers representing all states and union territories are participating in this Special National Integration Camp being conducted by the NCC Directorate J&K.
The General Officer was presented a Guard of Honour by the smartly turned out NCC Cadets comprising of young boys and girls. Later he witnessed a magnificent and a vibrant cultural programme of folk dances and group songs by the NCC cadets. Addressing the cadets who have come from all over the country, the General Officer appreciated them for their immaculate turn out, impressive drill and wonderful cultural programme. He highlighted the importance of organising such camp in Srinagar which has provided an opportunity for the cadets of different states.
Announcing future expansion of NCC in the state, the General Officer stated that very soon more NCC units in the valley particularly an Air Wing in Srinagar and an NCC Battalion at Kupwara would be raised to further spread the NCC to provide new openings to the youth of the area. The General Officer congratulated all officers and staff of the Srinagar Group for the excellent efforts put in by them in organising this camp.
