NDS releases Shakir’s book

‘Jammu Kuchh Vibhutian Evam Sanskritik Paridrishya’ a book penned by an eminent educationist and writer of the State, K.K Shakir was released at K.L Sehgal Hall on Tuesday.
Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir was the Chief Guest on the occasion whereas function was presided over by Dr. Aziz Hajini, Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL). Sachin Gupta, CEO, Om Palace and Rohit Chaudhary, Social and RTI Activist were the special guests.
Post graduate in History, Political Science and Urdu literature the eighty two years old veteran writer of the book hails from R.S Pura.

He is recipient of Pradhan Mantri Medal (1969), awarded best teacher award from State Government (1978), National Award (1990) and was honoured by Central Hindi directorate for his outstanding achievements as teacher (2015).
He has written fourteen books on varied subjects including his latest publication.
In his welcome address Capt. Lalit Sharma, former APCCF and Convener of NDS highlighted the literary and life time achievements of K.K Shakir.
He said writers, poets and artists are mirror of the society who exhibit strengths and weaknesses of the society through their expressions.
Kavinder said that it is duty of the society to honour its writers and artists, evaluate their creative endeavours and formulate strategies for a developed and vibrant society.
Sachin Gupta complimented K.K Shakir for his tireless literary journey and lauded his works.
Rohit Chowdhary said that if a teacher is a writer and artist as well he is then a double asset for the society and this is true in case of K. K. Shakir.
Dogra Harish Kaila, President NDS said that released book of Shakir is a proud and welcome addition to the literature and motivational for our young generation.
