NHPC shuts down Sewa-ll Power Station in Kashmir for maintenance

State-run NHPC today said its 120 MW Sewa-ll Power Station in Jammu and Kashmir has been completely shut down for about 20 days due to annual maintenance of machines.

“Sewa-ll Power Station (120 MW) in Jammu & Kashmir has been completely shut down for attending annual maintenance of machines/MIVs for about 20 days w.E.F. December 7, 2015,” the company said in a filing to the BSE.

Wartsila to supply 40 MW smart power generation plant to KSEBL * Power solutions provider Wartsila will supply a 40 MW smart power generation plant to Kerala State Electricity Board Limited (KSEBL).

The LNG-fired plant will be located near Kochi and will provide much-needed peaking power to Kerala, the company said in a press release.

According to the statement, the contract was awarded in June, and the power station, delivered on a turn-key basis, is expected to be commissioned by April 2017.

This is the first dedicated peaking power station ordered by a state utility, it added.
