NIA Court grants 15 days judicial remand of JeM militants in Uri Attack Case

Special Judge NIA J&K Jammu Kishore Kumar today granted 15 days judicial remand of Accused Faisal Hussain Awan (Age 20 years) of Village Podha Jhandgra, Muzaffarabad (POK) and Ahsan Khursheed (Age 19 years) of Village Khaliana, Khurd, Muzaffarabad (POK) who were arrested by the NIA in Uri Attack Case in which 17 Army Persons were killed.
NIA Team produced Faisal Hussain Awan and Ahsan Khursheed before court seeking police remand as they are allegedly involved in Uri Attack case.
Court after perusal of the CD file observed that that accused have been arrested in case RC-14/2016/NIA/DLI of PS NIA, New Delhi for offences under sections 302, 307, 124 (A) and 120-B, 121, 121-A of RPC and section 7/27 Arms Act and 15/16 and 18 of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act 1967. Perusal of the CD file further reveals that both the above mentioned suspects are the members of terrorist organization ‘JeM’ based in Pakistan and both of them working for said organization to wage war against the government of India and investigation of the case is at its initial stage and their custodial interrogation is needed to unearth the larger conspiracy against the Nation hatched by the terrorist outfit JeM and other over ground supporters.
Court further observed that keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the present case, stage of the investigation and the nature of offences involved in the case, this application is allowed and accused persons are remanded to judicial custody for a period of 15 days. JNF
