National Incredible Literacy Mission (NILM), Jammu today organized a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Nehru Memorial Public High School, Jourian.
On the occasion, large number of students participated in this awareness campaign .The seminar was organized in the supervision of Rakeshwar Singh, Project Director, National Incredible Literacy Mission.
Speaking with media personals Rakeshwar Singh project director NILM said “It is not about asking students to clean the environment, it includes cleanliness in all aspects and hence, we first asked students to maintain cleanliness within their school and house. After which, they were taught to ensure that they always wash their hands before and after their meal”,
A session was conducted at Nehru Memorial school by the experts of NILM on “Swach Bharat Abhiyan.” They not only highlighted the need for hygiene but also taught children that how to maintain proper hygienic surrounding . This made the children more enthusiastic about the whole process.” “The students were taught about the need to maintain basic hygiene and sanitation, students should understand the adverse health effects of filth lying around. Hence, we explained it to them the impact and the need to maintain a healthy environment,” said Thakur K D Kurhan chairman NILM.
Charanjeet Singh Jamwal principal of the Nehru Memorial public high school Jourian appreciated the efforts of NILM NGO to aware students for such noble cause. NILM officials and experts on Swach Bharat Abhiyan including Kavita Balli programme coordinator NILM along with Sakshi Dogra asst. coordinator gave a detailed Lecture over Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and they highlighted many points regarding cleanliness drive.
School staff members who devoted their self towards Swachta Abhiyan included Geetanjali vice principal along with teachers including Priyanka Sharma, Ashram Verma, Preeti Sharma, Jyostana and others.
